What I do, and who I am:
I provide targeted, client centered treatment for mental illness, substance abuse or dependence, and behavioral, emotional or functional challenges resulting from major recent or historic life events, stress, relationship issues, mood instability, and things like moral injury, burnout, domestic violence or adverse childhood experiences.
I combine EMDR, CBT and somatic therapy to create unique and effective therapeutic tools that achieve two things for my clients: Their ability to learn new things, and their ability to unlearn old things.
By strengthening your motivation and self-belief through a trusted and powerful therapeutic alliance, I will help you decrease your sensitivities to certain thoughts, feelings, and environmental factors that inhibit your ability to be your best.
I've spent my career building relationships in challenging natural environments, with people from all over the world. First as a forestry agent with the US Peace Corps in Africa, and later as a wilderness therapy provider in the woods of Wyoming and Colorado. What I have learned is that our challenges can grow us into better people only if we risk believing in ourselves, and believing in each other.
I believe in you. Ready to get started?
